Ziya Şengül is a former Turkish footballer who was born on January 1, 1958, in Kırıkhan, Turkey. He is known for his successful career as a striker and his contributions to the Turkish national football team.

Şengül started his football career at the age of 16 when he joined Hatayspor, a football club in Turkey. He played for the club for two years before transferring to Adanaspor, where he became one of the top scorers in the Turkish league. He then played for a number of other Turkish clubs, including Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Beşiktaş.

During his career, Şengül won several titles and awards, including four Turkish league titles,

three Turkish Cups, and the UEFA Cup with Galatasaray in 2000. He also won the

Golden Foot award in 1986, which is given to the top goal scorer in the Turkish

league.

Şengül also played for the Turkish national football team between 1980 and 1990, earning 24 caps and scoring 5 goals. He played in several international tournaments, including the

1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico.
